This page explains what information Parlor Press collects from visitors to this website and from clients, how we use it, and how we protect it. We have written it in plain language because we think you deserve to understand it.

What we collect and why.

From the contact form and booking system: When you fill out the contact form on this site, we collect your name, funeral home name, state, email address, and any message you include. This information is used to reply to your inquiry and, if an engagement follows, to open a client file. We do not add you to any mailing list without your explicit consent.

From the scheduling system: If you book a discovery call, Cal.com collects the information you provide when you schedule — name, email, and any details about your firm that you choose to share. Cal.com's privacy policy governs how they store and protect that data. We receive a confirmation of the scheduled call and use it solely to prepare for the conversation.

From analytics: This site uses Plausible Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics tool that does not use cookies and does not collect personal information. Plausible collects aggregate data about page visits — which pages are viewed, where visitors are coming from, what devices are used — without ever identifying individual visitors. No cookie banner is required because no cookies are set. You can review Plausible's approach at their website.

From client engagements: When you become a client, we receive the minimum case information needed to write: decedent names, survivor details, and life notes provided by the family or director. We do not receive cause of death unless it is relevant to the obituary and you choose to share it. We do not receive Social Security numbers, financial information, or protected health information. Case data is used solely to produce the deliverables you have engaged us to write.

How long we keep it.

Contact form submissions are retained for twelve months and then deleted unless an engagement is ongoing. Client engagement records — voice-style guides, deliverable drafts, and correspondence — are retained for the duration of the engagement and for twelve months after it ends. After that, they are deleted unless you request otherwise.

Who sees it.

We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. The third-party services we use are:

• Resend — transactional email delivery. When you receive a message from Parlor Press by email, it passes through Resend's infrastructure. Resend does not use your email address for any purpose other than delivery.
• Cal.com — discovery call scheduling. Cal.com stores the information you provide when booking a call.
• Plausible Analytics — cookieless site analytics. Plausible does not store personal information.

California and state privacy rights.

If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including the right to know what personal information we have collected, the right to delete it, and the right to opt out of its sale. We do not sell personal information. To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@parlorpress.com.

Residents of Virginia (VCDPA), Colorado (CPA), Connecticut, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have similar rights. We honor those rights by default regardless of your state of residence.

Children.

This site is intended for funeral home owners and directors, not for children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy.

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. We will not retroactively change how we handle information we have already collected without your consent.
